![]() Claudia is a wonderful guest services manager and she did everything possible to make our trip the trip of a lifetime. We opted to upgrade to Privelige service, but not room. The server said there was no alcohol in the drinks and saw our looks of disappointment, so she came right back with frozen margaritas for everyone without us even asking. We arrived and were immediately greeted with a refreshing icy drink. This resort deserves only good comments as it is a great place to be. When going to the bar don't forget to ask for "poop on the grass" Have a great trip and if you have any questions please ask and I will give you an honest answer. We met new friends from all over the world and it was just a great week. Breakfast was Amazing!! Staff all work extremely hard to please everyone and do a great job. I didn't complain that you were boring because you spent 1 week reading 3 books did I? To each their own. It's the so called party pool, so get a life. I didn't hear any bad things from anyone the whole seemed everyone had a great time. For those saying "loud Americans" by the pool bar.do your homework because it was Americans, Europeans and my wife and I who are Canadian. We stayed in building 21, which was right in middle of pools and main restaurant. When checking in the told us our concierge would explain the resort to us, so we sat with him to find out he's all about timeshares. We checked in at approx 11 a.m and had our room by 2p.m. This resort is a great place to go and have fun and relax. Other than that I found the hotel rooms clean, drinks were great, dinner food I found enjoyable, lunch was just ok, pools were fine, etc. ![]() Crazy - it was too much of a hassle to try to deal with - again on vacation. What was funny is I had two couples that were friends check in after me (booked with apple, I booked with expedia) and they got king beds. I called the front desk and they said there were no guarantees on the rooms and they just had a large group check in - essentially try again the next day and maybe you could get a different room. Also I ordered a king bed and when we walked in there were two doubles. Only warning I will give you is when you arrive one of the hotel employees will grab you to tell you about the hotel - they also try to get you to this VIP breakfast which is really a 1 hour presentation - I think you might get like $50 to do it - but we are on vacation, when we arrived I just wanted to get to my room / pool not given a sales pitch. Overall I thought the hotel lived up for what we paid. Thank you to the staff at the Mexican restaurant we won't forget you. There are local mini buses, which are dead cheap for only 40 pesos, but these do get packed with locals and hotel workers. So unless you go out on trips, you are pretty much 'confined to barracks', because even if you do reach the highway the nearest town Playa Del Carmen is 20 minutes away by cab. The hotel is up a long 1km drive from the main highway, so in the heat not comfortable to walk. The staff cannot do enough for you and I cannot praise them enough. Expensive yes, but from what I heard from friends (who did the same in Florida) we got to spend a lot more time in the water with them, plus we have a very professional video/photos as a keepsake. I achieved my dream to swim with the dolphins at Xel-Ha and it was fab. The trips are expensive but they are all day and do include food and drink. We booked four excursions, as coming to Mexico we wanted to see some of the Mayan ruins/history. ![]() We didn't try the Japanese as it is not to my taste, however, we heard some good reviews. The 5 restaurants on site had various menus and some had theme nights. The hotels grounds were immaculately kept and even though we had 2 days of torrential rain (the Mexicans said they really wanted it) the staff were upbeat and kept everybody entertained. We paid the extra for premium seats on Thomson new Dreamliner and it was worth it for the extra legroom and comfort for the 9 hour plus flight. This two week all inclusive adults only holiday break was the first vacation my boyfriend had had for 5 years, so as you can expect our expectations were pretty high.
